Main Event is Deontay Wilder (17-0, 17ko) vs. Dominique Alexander (21-9, 11ko) of Houston.  6 rounds. Also three other pro bouts and four golden gloves bouts. 

Show is Saturday, August 27th, 7pm at Water Oaks Farm Arena in Tuscaloosa.  Tickets are $30, $50, and $100 first row VIP.  Only 800 tickets will be sold for the show so they will go fast.

From University Mall

Go North on Mcfarland/US 82 - go 2.4 miles (go over bridge)

Take slight right onto Rice Mine Road (by Buddys Food Mart)  0.3 miles.

Turn left at light onto Rice Mine Road.  go 2.8 miles.

Turn right onto New Watermelon Rd.  go 1.8 miles (this will take you over the dam/spillway)

At light, take right onto McWright's Ferry Road.  go 0.6 miles.

Iron gate into Water Oaks Farm Arena is on your right.  follow the road on in.

TUSCALOOSA | If a sporting event can ever be the true reflection of a community, those lucky enough to count themselves in attendance Saturday experienced it first hand.

Black sat amongst white, the young with the old. Girlfriends held hands with doting boyfriends, wives with husbands. The upper class rubbed elbows with the middle and vice versa all along the socioeconomic ladder.

They came from the West End and from North River. It didn't matter if you were attending your first boxing match or your 100th, this night was special.

Deontay Wilder to hold Press Conference announcing first Professional Boxing Card in Alabama PDF  | Print |  E-mail
TUSCALOOSA, A.L. (January 24,2011) – Boxer Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder, 2008 Olympic Bronze Medalist, will hold a public news conference to announce his upcoming professional boxing match that will take place on February 19th, 2011 at the Umphrey Center, located on the Martin Campus of Shelton State Community College. The news conference will be held Friday, January 28th, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Atrium of Shelton State Community College’s Martin Campus on Highway 69 South.
 
Team Wilder is expected to announce his opponent, in addition to five undercard fights; plus ticket information and the specifics of Alabama’s first ever professional boxing event. Wilder, of Tuscaloosa, was the only boxing medalist for the United States at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.  Since turning professional, Wilder is 14-0 with 14 knockouts in the heavyweight division. Deontay Scheduled To Fight First Six-Round Fight PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Deontay is scheduled to fight "Chuckie" Brown in a six round fight this Friday, May 22, 2009 at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnatti. It will be Deontay's first 6 round fight and the first opponent that he has outweighed.  Deontay has added approximately 17 pounds since his performance at the Olympics.

 Deontay may also make an appearance in June on ESPN in Tucson, AZ.  Stay tuned for more details.
