The "Wild Ride" of Publicity

Deontay "Bronze Bomber" Wilder has an amazing story.

From boxing novice to Olympic Champion in under three years. This has never been done before in the history of the sport. Out of 286 boxers from multiple countries in multiple weight classes, Deontay was number 286 when it came to experience going into the Olympics. That's right. He was the least experienced guy. Whereas most Olympic boxers have 100-300 bouts, Deontay had under 30! When it was all said and done, though, America had only one medalist...Deontay Wilder! Add to that the incredible bond between Wilder and his little girl Naieya, born with Spina Bifida and you can see why so many people are interested in his story. The folllowing are just a few of the publications and media to feature Deontay:

  • Tuscaloosa Magazine
  • Washington Post
  • New York Times
  • USA Today
  • Wall Street Journal
  • Good Morning America
  • ESPN2's Friday Night Fights
  • NBC
  • MSNBC
  • Sports Illustrated
  • Ring Magazine
  • The Oprah Winfrey Show

Wilder gets Nickname!

"Bronze Bomber"

America's next great heavyweight has a new, heavyweight nickname! Deontay Wilder will now go by "Bronze Bomber" as his official nickname.

It makes perfect sense, Wilder is, in fact, a bomber! With his Bronze Medal from the Beijing Olympics, "Bronze Bomber" is a great fit.

Plus for history buffs, Joe Lewis, who was born in Alabama like Wilder, was the "Brown Bomber." So for Wilder, it's a way to pay tribute to another great Alabama Champion. So please welcome.....
